Can you do me a little favor?

"Can you do me a little favor?"  These are scary words because we know that favors are rarely little!  Jesus asks Peter to do a little favor...which leads to Jesus calling Peter to take an even bigger risk...which leads Jesus to transform Peter and Peter's friends into disciples!  A reflection on how it works when Jesus calls us to do a little favor (based on Luke 5.)

Gods' love is bigger than tribe

The crowd's response to Jesus first sermon:  Kick him out of town!   Jesus seems to have upset everyone by telling them good news, namely, that God's love is really, really big.  How can our heart  grow to be like Jesus, where we realize that God's love is bigger than our own tribe, nation and family?  Based on Luke 4.
