Advent III (Joy)

This morning's Scripture readings present us with two entirely different images: a confident and joyous Mary; a doubting and imprisoned John the Baptist.  The life of a Christian includes both doubt and joy. Indeed, as we grow older, often our doubts increase as does our hunger for joy.  Is there a way for our Advent to be filled with joy?
